D. Good Infrastructure

Almost all nations in the world have many old structures around their cities and villages of historical significance. For a country like India which has diverse heritage and is one of the oldest civilization of the world, it is very important to pass on the heritage value to the youth from their childhood days. When talk about Murshidabad, we instantly recollect all the intriguing historic happenings. It is the place Murshid Quli Khan, the Diwan of Bengal under Aurangzeb, named after him, after shifting his capital here from Dhaka in 1704. Over time, the Nawabs, the jagat Seth family of bankers, the rich Jain merchants, various Rajas, Ranis and others, contributed to the evolution of Murshidabad as The City, when Calcutta was but a cluster of villages. Murshidabad had become not only a seat of power, but also a treasure trove of architectural gems, was a prime hub of trade and commerce, an important Muslim/Hindu/Jain religious centre, and earned fame for its textiles, handicrafts, fruits, cuisine and other aspects. Murshidabad of those times was said to be as prosperous as London. Unfortunately, due to lack of care and gross neglect, many of Murshidabad's treasures were reduced to dust and ruins. However, still much remains to remind us of Murshidabad's glory days and its deserved prime place on Heritage map. Murshidabad is crying for resurgence. Good work has been done towards preserving its heritage by the central government agencies like the A.S.I, the state government and others like MHDS. But it is still work in progress.

The College is spread across 4 acres of land in the heart of Murshidabad, W.B. It has 2 buildings viz. Main building, which houses a Principal's office and Administrative office, Law Department, Classrooms, Moot Court Room, Multipurpose Hall, In-Campus Hostels for Boys and Girls, Library cum Reading Room with Computer Access, Staffroom etc. Surveillance Cameras are installed in the campus for security and safety of the students and staff.

These systems facilitate the reproduction of materials like course notes, textbooks, and other academic resources. They also offer services like scanning, altering printed materials to specific dimensions, and various binding options.

J. Gymnasium

A college gymnasium is a facility designed to support physical fitness and exercise for students, faculty, and staff. It provides a space for individual or group workouts, including cardiovascular exercises, strength training, and flexibility workouts. Gymnasiums can also offer fitness classes and have trained instructors for guidance and support.

Benefits of a College Gymnasium:
Promotes Health and Well-being: The gym provides access to exercise, which can help students manage stress, improve mental focus, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Encourages Social Interaction: Shared exercise can create opportunities for students to connect and build relationships outside of the academic environment.
Supports Holistic Development: The gym contributes to a balanced educational experience, promoting both physical and mental well-being.

K. Fire Fighting System

A comprehensive fire fighting system for a college should include active and passive measures. Active systems detect fires and suppress them, while passive systems protect against fire spread. Key components include fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits, all designed and maintained to meet fire safety codes and protect occupants and property.

1. Active Fire Protection Systems:
Fire Alarm Systems: Detect smoke, heat, or flames and alert occupants and emergency services.
Sprinkler Systems: Automatically discharge water to extinguish fires.
Fire Extinguishers: Portable devices for controlling small fires.
Fire Hose Systems: Provide a continuous stream of water for larger fires, often with hydrants and connections for fire department use.
Smoke Control Systems: Help to evacuate smoke from a building, improving visibility and allowing for safer evacuation.
Fire Suppression Systems: These systems use alternative agents like CO2, foam, or inert gases to extinguish fires in specific locations where water might cause damage.

2. Passive Fire Protection Systems:
Compartmentalization: Designing buildings with firewalls and barriers to limit the spread of fire.
Fire-Resistant Materials: Using materials that can withstand high temperatures and prevent fire from spreading.
Emergency Exits: Providing multiple safe routes for occupants to evacuate.
Fire-Resistant Doors and Windows: Preventing the spread of flames and smoke between different areas of the building.
Proper Building Design and Construction: Adhering to fire safety codes and regulations to ensure structural integrity and fire resistance.

L. Backup Electric Supply

Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS): UPS systems provide immediate backup power, especially during power outages or voltage fluctuations, ensuring continued operation of critical devices like computers, projectors, and other smart class equipment. They can also protect equipment from damage caused by power surges, according to Lorbel Critical Power Services.
Backup Generators: Backup generators, often fueled by diesel or natural gas, are designed to provide a more sustained backup power supply in case of a prolonged outage. They typically kick in automatically after a power outage is detected, says Vital Power.
Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS): ATS panels monitor the primary power supply and automatically switch to the backup power source (UPS or generator) when a power outage is detected, according to Vital Power.
